Cup play is an additional level of round-robin type competition. Youth teams (U14-U18) play for District, Lower Island, Island and Costal cups. Men's and Women's Senior teams play for cups in their respective Divisions.
DISTRICT CUP PLAYDOWNS
The District Cup finals will be hosted by the Sooke Soccer Club on the weekend of April 5/6.
For those teams that advance through to the finals in almost all cases your match start times will not be the same as your regular weekly league games.
In addition, in order to fit all the games in at the venue site some teams that normally play on Saturdays (U13-U16) will have their final scheduled for the Sunday.
The playdown dates leading up to the District Cup finals are as follows:
* the semi-finals are the weekend of March 29/30
* the quarter-finals are the weekend of March 15/16
* if more than eight teams in the draw the opening round will be March 8/9.
Please note that the Lower Island season does not close for spring break. The quarter-final round (for five
to eight teams) is scheduled for March 15/16, the first weekend of spring break. If BOTH teams involved in the
quarter-final match would rather play their game on a different day both teams can apply to LISA (through their
score recorder and
district scheduler) for a re-scheduling. If approval is received then it is the responsibility of those two
teams to make sure their match is played before the scheduled date of the next round (the semi-finals, March
29/30).
BCSA "B" CUP DRAW
The draw for the Lower Island playdowns in the BCSA "B" Cup competition (U14-U18) will take place at the district reps meeting, Tuesday, January 22.
Results of the draw will be emailed to the clubs and teams involved, and they will be posted on the LISA web site as soon as possible afterwards. Club reps attending the meeting will be able to copy the draw onto blank draw grids (provided at the meeting) to take back to their clubs.
Lower Island playdown dates for the BCSA "B" Cup are as follows:
* quarter-final rounds February 2/3
* semi-final rounds February 9/10
* final rounds February 16/17
The Lower Island reps will play the Upper Island reps the weekend of March 1/2. The Lower Island reps host the U14, U16 and U18 Island qualifiers while the Upper Island will host the U15 and U17 matches.
The Island winners qualify for the provincial "B" Cup tournament in July and advance to the semi-finals of the Coastal Cup. The semi-finals for the girls Coastal Cup are March 8/9 while the semi-finals for the boys Coastal Cup are March 29/30.
The Coastal "B" Cup finals for the girls are April 5/6 and for the boys, April 12/13. Both the girls and boys Coastal "B" Cup finals are on the Lower Mainland.
