Lou Garraway

E-mail Print PDF

Lakehill Soccer Association extends our condolences to the family of Lou Garraway, who passed away on January 26th at Hospice. Lou was a long time member of the soccer community on the island and began his soccer as a youth player with Lakehill Soccer. He was active in all aspects of the game, a member of the Cup winning Reynolds High School team in the mid 1970s. Lou played for many years for the Victoria Athletic Association, was a member of their executive, and sat on the Board of VISL. Our thoughts are with Colleen, their children and grandchildren and Ken, his brother.

A Celebration of Life for Lou was held on February 4th at the Esquimalt Legion with a tremendous show of support from the community including many of his old Lakehill Elementary and  Reynolds High classmates!  Donations may be made to Victoria Hospice, Victoria Athletic Assocation, or RCL Britannia #7.

Lakehill Mourns Loss

E-mail Print PDF
The Lakehill Soccer Association sadly reports the sudden loss of one of its members. Bill Bedwal, co-founder of Lakehill GoalTek and long time player/coach in the VISL, has passed away at the age of 47. Bill played his entire career with Lakehill, first as a youth and then as senior. In the past few years he brought his passion for the game to coaching VISL teams at Prospect Lake. A stalwart on defence, Bill was looking forward to the upcoming season both as a player and coach and his contributions on and off the field will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held on  August 29th. Bill leaves behind his wife Nicki and two children. Please support his family during this difficult time.
