Lakehill Soccer is launching a new and exciting recreation focused Soccer Season this April! Our programmes are geared to all players and age groups and is also open to new players who did not play winter club soccer!

Three seperate programmes will be offered with multiple divisions based on interest, including:

  • Seniors Division (u18 and over)
  • Intermediate Division (u11-u17)
  • Junior Division (u7-u10)

The focus is on providing a Spring Soccer League with games played weekly at the new Lakehill Turf facility located in the  Mckenzie/Braefoot area. The leagues will run from mid-April till the end of June. Registration forms are being sent out this week and are available for download  HERE (u11-u17 and u18-Seniors).

Spring league is open to players of all levels. players will be assigned to teams and Coaches. Our idea is to keep players active all year round! Younger players will have the opportunity to advance their understanding of the game and better their skills and enhance their self confidence!

Find out more on our 2010 Youth Spring league Registration page.  (u7-u10)

Regular scheduled league play is winding down for most of our Adult and Youth teams but Cup play continues! Last weekend saw some very exciting preliminary District Cup action with two of our teams progressing including the u17 Silver Boys after earning a victory on the 6th penalty kick following extra time!

Our Adult teams continue in the thick of Cup play with continued success by our LIWSA Div 2 Womens teams!  Both the Reds and the Thunder have had great seasons with the Div 2 Womens Lakehill Thunder (coached by Paul and Monica Petersen) going undefeated all season long *and* earning promotion to Div 1 for the 2010/2011 season! Our VISL Div 1 Mens team finished as the runners up in their division! Congratulations to all our Adult teams!

Two Lakehill youth teams finished the season undefeated and both will represent Lakehill as the LISA reps in both B Cup Provincial qualifying and District Champions against challengers from Upper Island! Congratulations to the u16Boys coached by Paul Cringle and the u17 Boys coached by Chris deGroot and Keith Bridge!

The  Lakehill Soccer Board recognizes and thanks all our Coaches, Team officials, Referees, ARs, and our many Volunteers without whom we would not have a club! Your countless hours and effort is greatly appreciated by all members! Thank you!

A reminder that the in-house Mini season continues till our wrap up event at Braefoot Park on March 27th details to follow!

President's Message

E-mail Print PDF

Hope your season is progressing well! Despite some start up challenges we have been able to work collectively with our many volunteers to complete our major goals for the 2009/010 season which saw the Braefoot Turf completion and our new improved web site!

As the season starts winding down we hope you have reported your volunteer hours in to your team or divisional coordinators, if not have a look at the clubs Volunteer pages (under the Club tab above) or contact the club Volunteers Coordinator.

A reminder that as a volunteer driven organization we are always in need of capable committed people to sit on the Clubs Executive Board, each year new positions become available. The next AGM will be held in April and our  Financial Director is stepping down after mean years of appreciated contribution to the club. If you have a fiscal background and are capable of using MS-Excel we could use your help! We are looking for Expressions of Interest to joing the board by sending an email to the club administrator.

With your help we have a lot of exicting areas identified for the coming season and some plans  I hope to share with you soon on this the PRESIDENTS PAGE

Yours in Soccer,

Derek
