Game Schedule |
A: Club soccer runs from early September till late March with a one month winter break. Tournaments and Cup play may see the post-season extended into April (or beyond). Team formations for Gold level teams – U12-U18 (usually) start in the Spring while Mini, Silver and Bronze levels take place closer to the beginning/middle of September. Season start details will be posted online at www.lakehillsoccer.com.
A: We run programmes from U5 to over 50s! “U” refers to “under” as of December 31st of the players birth year.
A: If a player is deemed to be capable of playing at that level by the clubs technical staff it is an option (starting at U7).
A: U5-U6, U7-U8 all play *house league* on Saturday mornings. U9-U10 play either intra-house, or, will play in the LISA league(s) depending on the recommendation of the clubs technical committee. Lakehill Soccer enters teams into the Lower Island Soccer (LISA) leagues for all U11-U18 age teams. All age groups below U17 play on Saturday’s, while U17 and U18 (currently are scheduled by LISA) play Sunday mornings. Information for U21-O50 players can be found on the Senior Teams page.
A: Our teams practice and play at Braefoot and Reynolds Park. Some teams may have games scheduled at Beckwith Park in Victoria. Since the 2009-2010 season Lakehill Soccer has an Artifical Turf playing field at Braefoot Park.
A: Lakehill practices for younger ages are usually scheduled for 5pm and last one hour. Older players will have later sessions. Practices are scheduled Monday-Thursday at one of our lit fields (Braefoot or Reynolds Park). Information for last season's practice schedule can be found on the Practice Schedule page.
A: All players provide their own soccer shoes (cleats) and shin guards. At younger levels (below U11) players wear their own shorts. Uniforms are provided by the club. Details can be found on the Registration Page.
A: Registration starts at the beginning of April each season. Details and fees can be found on the Registration Page. fees have not been increased since the 2008/2009 season. Lakehill Soccer maintains multiple rates based on youth ages: u5/6 ; u7/8 ; Super7/Super8 (u9-u12) and Full field (u13-u18)
A: Yes, families are required to volunteer five hours over the course of the season. A volunteer deposit of $100 per family is required at registration but will only be cashed if the requirement commitment is not fulfilled. Details can be found on the Volunteers Page.
A: Yes! All players from u8-u13 and goaltenders can participate in extra *development nights* which focus on skills development conducted by the clubs technical staff. Most players from u14-u18 will have two scheduled practices per week depending on field availability. Senior teams will usually have two scheduled practices.
A: Yes! Lakehill offers a number of Seniors teams. Information is available on the Senior Teams page.
A: Typically "no" however those entered in Cup and Tournament play may be scheduled by the league depending on the calendar congestion though the league tries to avoid holiday play (except games are usually scheduled over Thanksgiving). Consult the BC Ministry of Education calendar for Spring break info etc.
